Pitea (Port Code:SEPIT) is situated some 15km from the city, approx 30nm southwest of Lulea and includes the port area of Haraholmen. It has facilities and machinery for the handling of forest products as well as Ro-Ro and petroleum and oil products. The basin serving the 640m of quay space is kept operational by the use of icebreakers in winter. There is no public transportation available. Approx 950,000t of cargo handled annually. Max size: Approx 75,000DWT, max draught 11.5m MWL. Channel depth to Haraholmen 11.5m and to Pitsundet 6.0m.
