Port Arthur (Port Code:USPAR) lies on the west shore of Sabine Lake at the juncture of Taylor's Bayou and the Port Arthur Ship Canal, 27km above the Sabine Pass entrance to the Sabine Neches Waterway. The port handles all types of break bulk general cargo including forest products, iron and steel products, dry bulk cargoes, project and military cargo, bagged and bailed goods. Port Arthur International Public Port is designated as a US Strategic Sea Port because of its location on the 1,930km long Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, 459km west of New Orleans and 19km from New Orleans. Sabine Pass terminals are under separate entry. The port handles over 31,000,000t of mainly break bulk cargo annually. Load line zone: Summer. Max size: LOA 304m, beam 54m, draught 12.0m, 50,000DWT.
