Port Esquivel (Port Code: JMPES) is a port located near Old Harbour in St Catherine at the head of Portland Bight on the southern coast of Jamaica. The port has a concrete and steel pier which can load 35,560t of alumina in a turn-around time of 38 hours. It provides berthing for two vessels at a time, one handling Alcan's alumina shipments, the other utilised for general cargo. Molasses are shipped from this port and the JPS electric power station supplied with fuel via hoses from either berth. Approximately 2,500,000t of cargo are handled by the port annually. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 190 meters. The maximum draught is 10.9 meters. The maximum Deadweight is 50696t.
