Port Said East (Port Code: EGPSE) is a port lying in north east Egypt. It covers 35 square kilometers, including 1.5 square kilometers of water surface and 33.5 square kilometers of land area. It offers 642 thousand square kilometers of cargo-handling yards. Port Said East has capacity to handle 2.2 million TEUs of containerized cargo totaling 6 million tons each year.
The Suez Canal Container Terminal has been constructed at Port Said East Port and has been operational since October 2004. The terminal handled 700,000TEU during its first operational year and is predicted to reach 1,700,000TEU. El Arish, situated in the North Sinai, is managed by Port Said Port but can be found under separate entry. Traffic figures: Approx 3,000 vessels visit the port, 10,700,000t of cargo, 1,000,000TEU and 271,450 passengers handled annually.
