Port-Vendres (Port Code: FRPVS) is one of the few deep-water ports in this part of the French Mediterranean coast. It is situated near the Spanish border on the Côte Vermeille in southwestern France. The port is the only natural port on the Vermeille coast and is both a yachting harbour and an active fishing town. The town sits on the edge of the port overlooking the boats and the Mediterranean sea. Port-Vendres is renowned for its numerous fish and sea food restaurants. It takes freighters and cruise ships, as well as large and small fishing boats which may be seen arriving with their daily catch. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 165 meters. The maximum draught is 8.5 meters. The maximum Deadweight is 15609t.
