Port of Puerto Madryn (Port Code: ARPMY) is a sheltered harbour situated roughly at a midway point along the Argentinean coastline. The principal trade is the import of alumina and the export of aluminium ingots, byproducts, frozen fish and wool. Passenger vessels call Dec-Mar due to important coastal wildlife reserves in the area. There are 2 piers at Madryn, the Luis Piedra Buena Pier which is used by fishing vessels (old quay) and cruise ships (new quay) and the modern Almirante Storni Pier. Handling at berth or at anchor is carried out without tugs throughout 24 hours; movements do not depend on state of the tides
