Port of Punta Arenas (Port Code: CLPUQ) is a principal seaport situated in southern Chile in the Strait of Magellan. The port handles a limited amount of general cargo and containers. However, it is an important replenishment port for vessels making the transit between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. There are several smaller terminals and sub-ports that make up the Punta Arenas port area, including Puerto Percy, Lenadura, Cabo Negro, Bahia Gregoria, Caleta Clarencia (Clarence Cove) and Caleta Cutter (Cutter Cove), Puerto Natales (See separate entry), Laredo and Pecket. It handles containerised and breakbulk cargoes, passengers and fish. Principal exports are methanol, wool, mutton and frozen fish. Approximately 360,000t of cargo and 13,000TEU are handled annually.
