Safi Port (Port Code: MASFI) is a port situated on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, 250km south of Casablanca, 300km north of Agadir. As the nearest port to Marrakech, the port is well sheltered both geographically as well as by a breakwater, 1,817m in length. The port is divided into 3 areas: Basin No 1 Fishing Harbour with 16ha; Basin No 2 Commercial Harbour with 12ha; Basin No 3 (Sulphur and acid) with 17ha. The port has become an important terminal for the export of crushed gypsum. The main Imports include sulphur, potash, ammonia, petcoke and cereals. Exports are phosphoric acid, phosphate, gypsum, barite, zinc and clinkers. Approximately 6,000 tons of fresh fish, 600t of fish in transit. 8,000t of industrial fish are handled annually. 500 vessels with a total of 6,000,000t of cargo visit it annually.
