Port of Ho Chi Minh (port code: VNSIT), formerly known as Saigon port, is the principal port of Vietnam. Located on the west bank of Song Sai Gon, it is accessed via two channels of the Saigon and Soi-Rap Rivers.
The port encompasses Ben Nghe, Nha-be Oil terminal, VICT Container Terminal, Phu My Steel works and the river terminals of Rau Qua, Navioil Port, Lotus and Cho-Lon.
Approximately 12,000,000t of cargo and 1,200,000TEU are handled annually. About 67.5% of vessels regularly calling at this port are cargo vessels. With a maximum draught of 11.8 meters and a maximum deadweight of 63,396t, the maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 261 meters.
