Saldanha Bay Port (Port Code: ZASDB) is a port lying on the west coast of South Africa, 54 n.m. north of Cape Town. It is South Africa's largest natural anchorage with the deepest water bein 60 nautical miles northwest of Cape Town. It is the only port that handles iron ore in South Africa. It also serves base metal mines an adjacent heavy minerals smelter as well as nearby crude storage facility. It is a natural harbour, partly protected by an artificial breakwater. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 316 meters. The maximum draught is 11.6 meters. The maximum Deadweight is 81704t.
