San Pedro port (port code: USSPQ/USSPE) is an inland port in Los Angeles, California, the United States. It is located 30 kilometers south from the city center of Los Angeles, near to Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach, two major ports of the United States.
The port had been home to United States Navy Battle Fleet from 1920s to 1940s because of its ability to accommodate large vessels, its local availability of fuel oil minimizing transportation costs and its consistently good weather allowing frequent gunnery exercises off the nearby Channel Islands of California.
