The Port of San Salvador(Port Code: SVSAL) is a medium-sized seaport located in All Saints Bay in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. It is connected to inland Brazil by rail, road, and air. Open in 1502, it is a well-sheltered harbor protected from tidal fluctuations. Major imports through the Port of Salvador are wheat and grains, foods, chemical products, equipment, vehicles, and malt. Major exports include petrochemical and iron products, granite, fruits and sisal, cellulose, copper, and vehicles. The port has clamshells and hoppers to improve the operations of loading and discharge and it has transportation units to move the cargo from the piers to the receiver plants.
