The Port of São Francisco do Sul (Port Code: BRSFS) is one of the main seaports of Brazil and Latin America, located on the southeastern shore of Baia da Babitonga, 6 n.m. from the open ocean and 185 n.m. southwest of Santos. It's the largest port for cargo handling in Santa Catarina and the seventh largest in Brazil. The port handles dry bulk, containers, vegetable oil and general cargo. Good road and rail links ensure that the port serves an important role in the local, national and international transport infrastructure. Imports through the port mainly include soya oil, reels (steel), wheat, PVC, petroleum products and wheat. Exports are engine parts (motors), soya bean (chaff) pellets, soya oil, textile manufacturing, frozen chicken, tiles, tobacco and motor engine parts.
