Sarnia Port (Port Code: CASNI) is a port located at the head of the St Clair River at its junction with Lake Huron. Sarnia is a major petro-chemical centre, known as the "chemical valley' of Canada. The port provides seagoing access for supplies and project cargo and is a year-round berthing and repair facility for Great Lakes shipping. It functions as an important centre for lake freighters and oceangoing ships carrying cargoes of grain and petroleum products. The navigation season is from mid March to the end of December. Approximately 80 vessels visit the Government Wharves annually.
