Sarroch, also known as Porto Foxi (Port Code:ITPFX), is the tanker terminal for the port of Cagliari, in S Sardinia. The terminal consists of 13 berths on two finger piers, the main one, the SARAS Refinery Pier, has a deep draught sea island leading seaward from it, serviced by a subsea pipeline. The terminal handles crude oil, oil products, chemicals and LPG. Approx 26,500,000t of cargo and 1,050 vessels handled annually.
The port has essentially preserved its identity as a commercial and industrial crossroads. Despite its size, in fact, it is reached by many boats every year. The facility offers a wide range of services, including water, electricity, a slipway, cranes, travel lifts, toilets, fire-fighting systems, weather forecast, engine and electric repairs. This multitude of services allows the structure to establish itself as the oil harbour of Cagliari. Its two docks can, in fact, host both recreational boats and tankers.
