Scalloway port (Port Code:GBSLY) is a general cargo and fishing port with modern quays and generous, open storage space. It lies in a bight E of Point of Pund on the mainland of the Shetland Islands. The principal businesses are offshore oil support and fishing related. It handles general and reefer cargo. Freight vessels trading to the UK and Scandinavia regularly call at Scalloway. Cargoes handled include frozen fish, bulk fertiliser, building materials, road tar and aggregates. Scalloway is also an important fishing harbour which is nominally open in all weathers but movements are at the discretion of the Harbour Master and may be delayed if conditions are unsuitable. Approx 380 vessels visit the port and 34,000t of cargo handled annually. Max size: LOA 90m, draught 6.5m. Larger vessels may be accommodated at the Harbour Master's discretion.
