Sendai Port (Port Code: JPSEN) is a port situated on the northeast coast of Honshu in Miyagi Prefecture. It is an artificial port that was opened in 1971. It consists of 24 common user berths and 23 exclusive user berths. The port was damaged by tsunami in 2011 and temporarily closed. It was reopened then and Honda and Toyota are again sending production models to the port, which is the largest vehicle export facility in northeastern Japan. LNG imports are to resume in Dec 2011. Ferries connecting Tomakomai and Nagoya stop at the Port of Sendai. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 340 meters. The maximum draught is 14.6 meters. The maximum Deadweight is 317826t.
