Setubal Port (Port Code: PTSET) is a port located on the northern shore of the Rio Sado estuary, 30 km, southeast of Lisbon. It is a naturally sheltered port, handling dry and liquid bulk, Ro-Ro, project and breakbulk cargo. A shipyard is available to the southeast of the port, offering construction and repairing facilities. There is an important fishing industry based in the port. A large, deep and safe anchorage is available, sheltered from the prevailing northern winds by the Arrabida mountains. Approximately 6,100,000 tons of cargo, 20,000TEU and 1,500 vessels handled are annually.
