Port of Siracusa (Port Code: ITSIR) is a port situated on the southeastern coast of Sicily. The port is safe and protected with facilities for general and bulk cargoes. The main exports are fruit, olive oil, wine, cement and fertilisers. The entrance is 1,200m in width with a depth of 25.0-30.0m and over 1,700m of quays in the Old Port (Porto Marmoreo) and the main harbour (Porto Grande). Most commercial traffic passes through the main port where water and provisions are available. Bunkers are floated down by barge from Augusta (to the North of the port) and small repairs can be made. Tanker cargoes are handled at Melilli Oil Terminal, some 8km away.
