The Port of Tanga (port code:TZTGT) is the second largest port in Tanzania. At present, the port is served by three shipping lines: Delmas, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and Inchcape. It is situated on the northern coast of Tanzania, close to the Kenyan border. Tanga is a lighterage port with two shallow water berths, a multipurpose jetty (disused) and 12 anchorage berths for ocean going vessels. The principal imports are phosphates, chemicals, machinery, vehicles, liquid ammonia, sulphur, grain, oil and general cargoes. The main exports are coffee, sisal, fertiliser, cement, tea, timber, beans, skins and hides.
