The port of Tela (Port Code: HNTEA) is a port situated at the southern end of the bay of the Tela, off the Gulf of Honduras, 70km west of La Ceiba in the Caribbean. Tela gained fame as a banana port, but it now exports coconuts and citrus fruits as well.
The port of Tela is presently used by tankers only, discharging Mogas 87 and 95 and diesel for one cargo receiver. Approximately 60 vessels with a total of 600,000DWT use the port annually. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 184 meters. The maximum draught is 11 meters. The maximum Deadweight is 51441t.
