Tobata port (port code:JPTOB/JPTBT) is one of the main deep-sea-fishing bases of western Japan, has a large output of cotton textiles, and contains numerous metal industries. It is situated on the N coast of Kyushu facing the Kanmon strait which separates Kyushu and Honshu. Tobata is part of the larger Kita-Kyushu port complex. Commodities handled include ores, coal, liquefied gas and general cargoes. Max size: Ore/Coal Berth: LOA 327m, draught 16.0m, 160,000DWT.
