Tocopilla Port (Port Code: CLTOQ) is a port situated midway between Iquique and Antofagasta, in a bay 3nm wide between Point Algodonales to the south and Point Ana to the north. Tocopilla is an important port in Chile in terms of imports and exports. There are fishmeal and canned fish factories in the city. Principal commodities through the port are exports of nitrate, fishmeal, sulphuric acid and the copper from Chuquicamata and saltpeter from El Toco, as well as imports of bulk coal and oil. Approximately 150 vessels visit the port annually. Over 2,000,000 tons of cargo is handled per year.
