Topolobampo port (port code:MXTOP) connects the northern Mexican states through the Chihuahua-Pacific Railroad, which has a terminus in nearby Los Mochis. It is the eastern port for the daily car ferry connecting to La Paz in Baja California Sur. Topolobampo is situated in the state of Sinaloa, on the W coast of Mexico, approx 365km NW of Mazatlan.
The port is located in an extensive fertile zone which produces half of Mexico's agricultural output, the principal export is agricultural and cattle products. The port consists of private terminals for handling various types of cargo, including general, containers, oil products, LPG and ammonia. Approx 960 vessels, 4,800,000t of cargo and 186,000 passengers handled annually.
