Tromsø port (port code: NOTOS) is one of Norway’s largest fishing ports, an important logistics hub in the Northern Norway and a large cruise port. It is situated just west of Norway’s mainland on the eastern shores of Tromsoya Island, about 93 kilometers north-northeast of the Port of Narvik. Well within the Arctic Circle, the Port of Tromso is the major Arctic fishery in Norway.
With a total land area of 2 million square meters, the port welcomes 7,939 calls each year, among which 3,256 are fishing vessels. Allowing a maximum draught of 8.8 meters and maximum deadweight of 16607t, the port had once handled vessels 238 meters in length.
The port handles 1,2 million tonnes of cargoes and 1 million passengers annually.
