Truro Port (Port Code: GBTRU) is a port lying at the head of the Fal Estuary. Covering an area of 2,500 acres, the port has a long history of commercial activity. There are 1,500 moorings within the Port of Truro, which consists of deep water and tidal moorings. Lighterage Quay, the main commercial quay, is 350 metres in length and has covered and open storage facilities and a weighbridge.The largest vessels handled include vessels up to 85m in length, draft of 4.4 m and deadweights of 2000 tonnes.
Cargoes handled to date include bulk commodities (coal, stone, cement, sand, ore concentrates, scrap metal, animal feed, grain and calcified seaweed.)
The Harbour Authority has committed itself to upgrading facilities to enable safe and quick handling of goods which includes maintaining a dredging commitment and improved navigational lighting.
In addition to cargo handling the port offers deep water sheltered lay up berths for vessels up to 190m.
