Tubarao Port (Port Code: BRTUB) is a port in Brazil, near the city of Vitória in Espírito Santo. It is situated at Tubarao Point on the northern side of Baia do Espirito Santo, 12km from Vitoria, and is adjacent to the port of Praia Mole. Built in 1966, the port has been owned by Vale, a Brazilian mining company, which exports of iron ore extracted from a hinterland rich in mineral deposits through the port. In 2007, the Port of Tubarão was the largest iron ore embarking port in the world, shipping around 80 million metric tons of ore a year. The port is also among the fastest iron ore loading terminals in the world, with an average loading rate of 12,000 tonnes per hour and a nominal loading rate of 16,000 tonnes per hour.
Lesser port trade includes grain and soybean meal. There is also a container terminal and a liquid bulk terminal handling petroleum derivatives.
