Mesaieed Port, also known as Umm Said Port (Port Code: QAUMS), is a deep-water port situated on the eastern coast of the Qatar peninsula, approximately 45km south of Doha. Mesaieed lies on the industrial heartland of the country and is the premier port in the State of Qatar. There are 22 berths and 1 SBM, handling crude oil, petroleum products, LPG, chemicals, fertiliser, bulk and general cargoes. Exports mainly Include Qatar (land) crude oil, condensate, refined products, LPG, naphtha, petrochemicals, ethylene, ammonia, methanol, polythene pellets, bulk urea, steel bars, sulphur, and bulk and general cargo. Imports Include iron ore pellets, salt, aggregates, cement, clinker and project cargoes. The opening of the deepwater port at the capital city of Doha in the early 1970s lessened dependence on Umm Said as a general port.
