Wilmington is located on the E bank of Cape Fear River, North Carolina State, 42km from the Atlantic Ocean. Wilmington has 2,063m of concrete berthage handling general cargo, bulk solids and liquids as well as Ro-Ro and container cargoes. Principal imports include forest products, chemicals, grain, cement and general cargo. Principal exports include wood pulp, general cargo, forest products, food products and military cargo. Traffic figures: Approx 3,004,000t of cargo, 133,700TEU, 362 vessels handled annually. Load line zone: Summer. Max size: Depth of harbour channel, turning basin and seven berths is dredged to 12.8m MLLW. Largest vessel handled: "Hanjin Tokyo", 50,792GT, LOA 289m, draught 11.5m.
