Worcester Port (Port Code: USWOR) is a Port of Entry in Worcester, the middle of Massachusetts, United States. The Port of Worcester, more accurately, the Port of Entry for Worcester, accepts and distributes thousands of goods each year from foreign countries to America.
Goods come from abroad to the Port of Worcester in two ways. They are brought in shipping containers, by rail, to the intermodal facility. Most of these goods are brought by container ships to New York or Boston, but they are not opened or approved by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers. The sealed containers are offloaded and shipped by rail to Intransit’s facility, where CBP officers or employees accept entries of merchandise. On a smaller scale, goods are also sometimes flown or driven by truck to Worcester Regional Airport.
